Andrea Battaggia was born in Ravenna, Italy. He trained at the Academy Teatro Alla Scala of Milan and furthered his training at the JKO American Ballet Theatre in New York.
Upon graduating, he worked with Alberta Ballet in Canada for four years where he performed a variety of roles in ballets including: Serenade, The Four Temperaments, Swan Lakeand The Sleeping Beauty.
Andrea has also worked at Ballet Cymru where he was a company member for four years and danced roles such as: Romeo in Romeo and Julietand Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Particular highlights have included: Albrecht in Giselleand Basilio in DonQuixote.
Andrea is very excited to be joining Ballet Ireland for the upcoming season.
