Cian Hughes

Born in Dublin, Cian started ballet at the age of 16 when he became a student at the College of Dance as well as the Irish National Youth Ballet Co. He then went to further his training at Central School of Ballet in London graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in 2016. He has danced alongside the Kidd Pivot Company as part of Crystal Pite’s Polaris at Sadler’s Wells in 2014. During his final year at Central he was part of the touring company Ballet Central, where he performed in pieces including Sharon Watson’s Repetition (2) Change, Christopher Gable’s Celebration, Mikaela Polly’s Ascent and Christopher Marney’s War Letters. He has also performed in Northern Ballet’s Goldilocks and the three bears for CBeebies (2017). This is Cian’s second season with Ballet Ireland after making his professional debut in The Nutcracker (2016).
