James Loffler

James’ previous performances with Ballet Ireland include Tutus & Beyond (2015), Swan Lake (2014) Carmen (2014, 2013); The Nutcracker (2013, 2012); Cinderella, After the Ball (2013, 2009) Romeo & Juliet (2012, 2010); Scheherazade (2011) and A Christmas Carol (2008).  James is also an active member of the educational and outreach program and has been a team member on 4 annual summer schools. Previous performances with other companies include Pasodos Dance Company, Mallorca (2010), Michael Clark Company in London for The Stravinsky Project (2008) which toured to New York’s Lincoln Centre Seoul, Korea and extensively throughout Europe.  James was invited to perform the Pas de Trois from The Pearl Fishers at the Royal Opera House’s Linbury Theatre as part of Young British Dancer of the Year (2005). Awards include the prestigious Barbara Fewster Boys’ Award, under the auspices of the Cecchetti Society and was granted a scholarship to attend their annual Summer School. James was born in Kircheim, West Germany, and at the age of 7 moved with his family to Guildford in the United Kingdom. He began his dance training at the Arden Holford School of Dance, became a junior associate of the Royal Ballet School, and at the age of 11 continued his full-time training at the Royal Ballet School. James completed his training at the Arts Educational School, Tring, and was a member of Britain’s National Youth Ballet for three years.
