Richard Bermange



Richard’s previous performances with Ballet Ireland include Tutus & Beyond (2015), Swan Lake (2014), Carmen (2014, 2013), The Nutcracker (2012, 2013), Romeo & Juliet (2012) Cinderella After the Ball (2013, 2009) and Scheherazade (2011). Performances with other companies include Peter Schaufuss Ballet in Tchaikovsky Trilogy (2012), Romeo and Juliet (Ashton, 2011); English National Ballet in Derek Dean’s Swan Lake (Derek Dean, 2010); Tivoli Ballet, Copenhagen in soloist and principal roles in various productions including Bournonville’s Napoli and Flower Festival at Genzano  (2008-2009) and ballets by Dinna Bjørn; K-Ballet, Tokyo in The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Don Quixote, and Le Corsaire (all after Petipa), Ashton’s The Two Pigeons and Rhapsody, and MacMillan’s Winter Dreams. (2005-2007). As a student he danced with Northern Ballet in a national tour of A Christmas Carol (Moricone) as well as appearing with Ballet Central, where he worked with choreographers including Cathy Marston and Morgann Runacre-Temple. Choreography credits include a current commission for Ballet Central,  sections of Ballet Ireland’s Swan Lake (after Petipa/Ivanov) and The Nutcracker (additional); commissions in the UK and independent productions performed in Resolution! at The Place and Cloud Dance Festival at the Pleasance Theatre, London; in addition to choreography and movement direction for film currently in development. He has recently been awarded a place on Dance UK’s 2014 Dancers’ Mentoring Programme, being mentored by international choreographer Kim Brandstrup. He is currently completing an MA in Choreography at Central School Ballet and recently worked as Assistant Director on a theatre production under development by the Royal Ballet Studio Programme.

Richard was born in London and began dancing locally with Leo Kersley at Harlow Ballet School (UK) before completing his training at Central School of Ballet, London.
