Javier Monier

Javier was born in Cuba and trained at Escuela Nacional De Ballet Fernando Alonso where he subsequently graduated with a gold diploma in classical ballet. During his time at the school he won the Gold and Bronze medal at the International Ballet Competition in Havana, Cuba in 2008 & 2011.

In 2012, Javier joined the Joburg Ballet (South Africa) and only one year later, was promoted to Soloist. He performed many roles including: Franz in Coppélia, Basilio in Don Quixote, Ali the Slave in Le Corsaire, The Prince in The Nutcracker, and the Bronze Idol in La Bayadere.

He has also performed as a guest artist with the Tivoli Ballet in Denmark for their production of The Nutcracker and participated in the International Ballet Gala in their homage to Alicia Alonso, South Africa 2013. Recently, he was a Silver medalist at the Korean International Ballet Competition 2017.

This is Javier’s first season with Ballet Ireland.
