Kevin Smith

Kevin trained at The Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College Dublin.

His dance design credits include Exodus, Grand Junction (Dance Theatre of Ireland), The Ballet Ruse (Muirne Bloomer & Emma O’Kane), Step Up with John Jaspers, Liz Roche, John Scott & Marguerite Donlon, Michael Keegan Dolan. He also designed An Outside Understanding with Croí Glan which was nominated for Best Design Absolute Fringe 2012).

Kevin’s theatre design credits include Monsters Dinosaurs & Ghosts (Abbey Theatre, Peacock Stage) The Family Hoffmann Mystery Palace (The MAC & Cahoots NI),  Romeo & Juliet (Second Age), Serious Money, Dying City (Rough Magic Seeds), Grumpy Old Women (Gaiety), Rhinoceros (Blue Raincoat Theatre Co), Scenes from The Big Picture (The Lir), Beowulf (Pat Moylan Productions), Moll (Verdant/Gaiety Productions), Spinning (Fishamble) and These Halcyon Days with Landmark Productions which won a fringe first in Edinburgh.

Opera work includes Madama Butterfly (Opera Ireland), Motion of the Heart (eX Music Ensemble) and Opera Briefs with The Lir. He also designed Flatpack (Ulysses Opera) nominated for an Irish Times Best Opera Production.
