Seu Kim is Korean and was born in Japan. He started dancing at the age of six at the CJG ballet studio in Japan. At sixteen, he won a scholarship from the Youth America Grand Prix 2014 and furthered his training by accepting a place at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne.
After graduating, he became a finalist at the 44thPrix de Lausanne in 2016 and secured an apprenticeship with the Royal Swedish Ballet. During his two years with the company he performed: Pontemolle (Bournonville), Nutcracker (Pär Isberg), Swan Lake (Pär Isberg), Alice in Wonderland (Christopher Wheeldon), Artifact Suite (William Forsythe) and Sleeping Beauty (Márciahaydée).
Seu’s competition awards include: 2nd Place in Youth America Grand Prix Japan Semi-Final (2014), Finalist in 44th Prix de Lausanne (2016), Finalist in Korea International Ballet Competition and Silver medal at the junior category in the 27thVarna international ballet competition.
Seu previously performed with Ballet Ireland in Giselle & The Nutcracker.
