Yuliya Prokharava

Yuliya was born in Minsk, Belarus and she began her ballet training at the age of ten. From 2002-2011, she studied at the Belarusian State Ballet College under the tutelage of Marina Petrova and danced principal roles in several of the school’s ballet productions including Don Quixote, Esmeralda, The Little Humpbacked Horse and George Balanchine’s Tarantella.

Yuliya was awarded a Gold Medal at the VI international youth ballet competition ‘Crystal Shoe’ in Ukraine, and a Bronze Medal at the international ballet competition by Yury Grigorovich ‘Youth Ballet of the World’ in Russia. In 2010 she was awarded the President’s scholarship for talented youth.

Upon graduating, Yuliya entered the corps of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. She performed the principal role in world premiere of Waiting Room choreographed by Kuznetcov and Diatko. She also danced various soloist roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Bayadere, Serenade and has participated in many international tours around the world, including the United States, Korea, Kenya, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia.

Yuliya has appeared as a guest artist with Palais d’Hiver-St.Petersburg Ballet, Cork City Ballet and as a guest principal dancer with American Ballet Company by Talmi Entertainment.
