Shiori Yamashita

Shiori was born in Tokyo, Japan.

She began dancing at the age of eight at the Symphony Ballet Studio in her hometown, where she had the opportunity to perform the role of Princess Aurora.

In 2021, she joined The Royal Ballet School in London, spending five years training in both classical and contemporary dance before graduating in 2026. During her time there, she had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as David Bintley, Anthony Dowell, Morgann Runacre-Temple and Hannah Joseph.

Her repertoire included the Polish Princess in Peter Wright’s production of Swan Lake, as well as a principal role in Beauchamp’s Garden, an entirely new work created with David Bintley. She also performed in Anthony Dowell’s Sleeping Beauty, August Bournonville’s Konservatoriet, Marius Petipa’s Paquita, Frederick Ashton’s La Valse, and Mats Ek’s Smoke.

Alongside performing, she choreographed two original pieces during her training, Slipping into Chaos and Whispers of the Core, with the latter presented at her graduation showcase at the Linbury Theatre in 2026.

Shiori joined Ballet Ireland in 2026.
