Valerie Yeo

Valerie was born in Singapore. She first started dancing under Jenny Chien, and at the School of the Arts Singapore (2011-2013). In 2013 she was awarded the National Arts Council Undergraduate Scholarship, and continued training at the Central School of Ballet, London (2014-2016). While in school, she worked with Crystal Pite for the 2015 premiere of Polaris and with Ballet Black for Christopher Marney’s War Letters in Ballet Central’s 2016 tour.

After graduating, she joined Singapore Ballet (formerly Singapore Dance Theatre) as a dancer from 2017-2022. She performed in company productions of Romeo and Juliet, Coppélia, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Cynthia Harvey’s Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. She has also worked with choreographers Toru Shimazaki, Lucas Jervies, Christina Chan, Timothy Harbour, Nils Christe, Rachel Lum and performed in pieces by George Balanchine, Bournonville, Edwaard Liang, and Choo San Goh. She also performed the Nutcracker Pas de Deux for Singapore Ballet Academy’s 60th Anniversary Gala (2018), and the Graduation Ball Pas de Deux as a guest dancer for School of the Arts Singapore (2017).  

Valerie joined Ballet Ireland in September 2022.
