Tom Umseher
Tom was Born in Melbourne, Australia where he began his ballet training at the age of 9. He then commenced full time training at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School before moving to Germany in 2020 to further his training at the John Neumeier Hamburg Ballet School. Tom completed his training back in Melbourne at The Australian Ballet School while also taking part in select seasons with The Australian Ballet.
Tom then spent a year with Queensland Ballet as a Jette Parker Young Artist before joining West Australian Ballet. Tom spent two years with the company where he furthered his passion for contemporary dance while also honing his classical ballet skills with highlights including a featured role in Mattering by James O’Hara, playing the role of Paris in Andrea Schermoly’s Romeo and Juliet and choreographing I’m This I’m That for the Genesis season.
Tom is now a freelance artist based in London, performing ballet as well as contemporary and commercial styles.
Tom joined Ballet Ireland in 2026.
